UPDATE:
Otis enjoyed his retirement and BROKE my heart when I had to put him down.
I loved that dog more than I can even believe, even now/
Thank you, friends, who contributed and truly made HIS and MY life worth living while I had him.
He took my heart.
REST in PEACE my sweet boy O.T.

TO TREAT OTIS' ADDISON'S DISEASE

Otis is a special boy.
He came into our care around Valentine's Day, 2014.  He is a really tiny mastiff, possibly a bullmastiff, who suffers from Addisons Disease. This disease is very treatable, but also a serious disease and one which is among the costliest to treat.  He requires an injection every FOUR weeks , the cost for which is 199.99 each time.

Add to that the fact that he is almost 10, and has the sweetest expression and happy wagging tail...and you can see why we ended up ultimately FAILING as a foster family for him.

There are many other reasons why it looks like the  best place for Otis is going to be here. One of them is NOT, however, that WE can afford his injections any more easily than his owner who ultimately had  to give him up solely because of financial constraints.

We are EXTREMELY LUCKY to have the support of all of you wonderful mastiff people and fellow dog lovers, so many of whom have offered to pitch in each month to pay for his shots as he needs them.

I am mostly in touch with you all on Facebook, so as each donation is recieved and the amount in his bank gets closer to the 200.00 mark each month, I will update on facebook.  That way everyone will know what the current situation is.
Thank you , everyone, for helping us help this sweet creature enjoy whatever time he has left! He is having a  blast here so I hope he gets a good amount of time. And yeah, we love him...that too.....:)
